IPL 2023: The performance of Rajasthan Royals‘ opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal has pleased Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma considerably in the current 16th season of the Indian Premier League. Jaiswal enters his fourth season in the IPL. It is reasonable to say that he has already made his mark.
He scored 428 runs at an average of 47.56 and a strike rate of 159.70. He has a century and three half-centuries. The left-handed batter might be expected to wear the Indian shirt in the coming months. Jaiswal has a chance to set a record for the most runs scored by an uncapped batter if at least five more matches are played.

Sharma’s evaluation of Jaiswal’s six-hitting abilities as compared to the previous year was spot-on during the post-match presentation with host broadcaster Star Sports Network.
“I watched him last year as well. He’s taken his game to another level this year. I was just asking him about ‘Where is that power coming from’? Because I didn’t see so many sixes [from him] last year. He was timing [them] so nicely. He said, ‘I have been spending a lot of time in the gym’,” Sharma told Star Sports in Mumbai.

Jaiswal also talked about the reason behind his power in the post-match presentation of the game with Harsha Bhogle.
“I think I keep myself mentally very strong. Secondly, I am working a lot on my fitness, dietary intake and discipline. My world outside of cricket is well-organized,” Jaiswal said after winning his third Player of the Match award this season.
With 18 sixes this season, Jaiswal is sixth on the list of players with the most sixes in IPL 2023. However, he leads the league with 56 fours. During the 2022 and 2021 seasons of the Indian Premier League, Jaiswal struck ten sixes in as many games. His improvement in this format is shown by the fact that his average number of sixes per match has doubled from the previous two seasons.

The Mumbai Indians defeated the Rajasthan Royals by six wickets in a high-scoring thriller in which David hit Jason Holder for three consecutive sixes. He scored with a strike rate of 200, with 16 fours and eight sixes.
