Afghani Female Fan “Goes Nuts” Over Rajasthan Royals Tweet

Sanju Samson

Rajasthan Royals Does It Again!!? The Indian Premier League (IPL) has always been a stage for thrilling cricket matches, electrifying performances, and intense rivalries. However, the tournament isn’t just about the action on the field; it also witnesses its fair share of controversies and off-field drama. The recently concluded IPL 2023 Eliminator match between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Mumbai Indians (MI) became the center of attention due to a trolling incident that involved mangoes, igniting a heated debate among fans.

LSG’s Defeat and the Trolling Spree: In a resounding defeat, Lucknow Super Giants succumbed to Mumbai Indians in the Eliminator match, disappointing their players and fans. Unfortunately for LSG’s pacer, Naveen-Ul-Haq, his performance in the match made him the target of merciless trolling. Ardent fans of Indian cricket captain, Virat Kohli, wasted no time in taking a jibe at Naveen-Ul-Haq, seizing the opportunity to taunt the player.

Rajasthan Royals troll LSG and Naveen-Ul-Haq!!

The trolls began and the Twitter account of the Rajasthan Royals couldn’t help themselves!!

Afghani female cricket fan Wazhma Ayoubi couldn’t help but reacted to the Tweet by Rajasthan Royals!!

And it had to generate a response for sure!!

Swiggy and Zomato adding salt to injury

While the trolling initiated by fans was expected, it was Swiggy Instamart, a popular food delivery service, that further fueled the mockery. Swiggy Instamart’s Twitter account posted a humorous tweet that read, “Someone from Bangalore has just ordered 10kg mangoes.” The Tweet was a clever reference to Naveen-Ul-Haq’s performance and instantly caught the attention of IPL 2023 enthusiasts.

Not to be outdone, Zomato, another prominent food delivery service, joined the trend by sharing a photo on social media. The image depicted a plate filled with mangoes placed in front of a television screen showing Naveen-ul-Haq batting. Zomato added a caption to the picture that read, “Not so sweet mangoes.” The witty post further amplified the trolling and garnered significant engagement.

Mumbai Indians’ Players Join the Fray: Surprisingly, players from the victorious Mumbai Indians team also participated in the trolling spree. Kumar Kartikeya, Vishnu Vinod, and Sandeep Warrier, in a twist of events, captured a photo together at a dining table, prominently displaying mangoes in the frame. While their intention might have been to engage in friendly banter, the move only intensified the controversy surrounding the incident.

Division among fans after Rajasthan Royals and other trolls:

The trolling incident quickly divided fans across social media platforms. Some fans viewed it as harmless banter between players and saw it as a lighthearted aspect of the game. For them, the exchange of playful jibes adds an extra layer of excitement and entertainment to the IPL.

However, there is another faction of fans who consider the trolling to be crossing the line. They argue that personal attacks and mocking a player’s performance in such a manner are disrespectful and unnecessary.

The impact and debates:

The incident involving the Rajasthan Royals’ team Twitter channel posting a comment trolling Naveen-Ul-Haq further added to the controversy. Fans, who were already divided over the earlier trolling incidents, expressed their distress over the team’s involvement.

Social media platforms have been abuzz with heated discussions, with supporters from both sides passionately defending their stance. Some fans believe that the trolling is an integral part of modern-day sports and should be taken in a lighthearted manner, while others argue that it sets a wrong precedent and can lead to emotional distress for the players involved.

The IPL 2023 trolling incident, revolving around mangoes and targeting Naveen-Ul-Haq, has sparked a heated debate among fans.
