Arsenal is very much interested in Ferdi Kadıoğlu, the left-back for Fenerbahçe. This revelation has been setting the Turkish press ablaze for months. According to a story in Milliyet last week, the 24-year-old and the Gunners have personal terms. This positions Arsenal well for their pursuit of strengthening their team for the next campaign.
Star Gazetesi brought out the fact that a number of European teams are interested in Kadıoğlu. Arsenal does, however, seem to be the most serious competitor. Under Mikel Arteta’s direction, the team seems prepared to make a lot of effort to fulfill all the requirements in order to get Kadıoğlu during the summer transfer window.
The scenario is still changeable in spite of these advancements. Presumably, Kadıoğlu would depart the Istanbul club in the next window. Still, this presumption may not be valid any longer. José Mourinho joined Fenerbahçe as manager not too long ago. Even with Arsenal calling, the seasoned Portuguese strategist, according to Star Gazetesi, wants to retain Kadıoğlu at the team.
Arsenal Set To Push More For The €30m Signing
Fenerbahçe takes a really complicated position. Even if Mourinho wants to keep Kadıoğlu, the team is willing to negotiate if the proper offer materializes. The left-back is expected to fetch the Yellow Canaries around €30 million. This suggests that even if they think highly of the player, they are not totally opposed to his leaving if their valuation is satisfied.
The desire of Arsenal in Kadıoğlu fits with their defensive strengthening plan. The Turkish international is just the kind of player the team has been wanting to add depth and variety to. Playing at many positions, Kadıoğlu appeals to Arteta, who appreciates flexible players.
What’s more?
This transfer story has an intriguing twist with Mourinho joining Fenerbahçe. Arsenal’s ambitions may be hampered by Mourinho’s want to retain Kadıoğlu, who is renowned for his tactical sense and ability to bring out the best in his players. Still, Kadıoğlu might find it difficult to turn down the chance to play in the Premier League and join a team like Arsenal.
Fans of Arsenal are closely observing these events. It thrills them to think of acquiring a gifted and adaptable player like Kadıoğlu. Getting Kadıoğlu would be another indication of desire for the club, which has demonstrated ambition in the transfer market.
The financial offer that Fenerbahçe is considering as well as the intentions of its new management will probably influence their choice. One cannot stress the importance of Mourinho. Should he be able to persuade Kadıoğlu to remain, Arsenal may have to seek elsewhere. But Fenerbahçe might find it difficult to hold onto the midfielder if he presses for a transfer, particularly if Arsenal makes a big offer.
This transfer narrative will develop further in the next weeks. Should Kadıoğlu choose to join Arsenal in the Premier League or remain in Istanbul under Mourinho’s guidance? Important next actions will be taken by the athlete and the clubs. Arsenal is determined to improve their team, thus this transfer story may have a spectacular finish.
