T20 World Cup 2026: A Mother’s Reaction That Says It All; Sanju Samson Is A Hero

T20 World Cup 2026

Team India, the co-hosts of the T20 World Cup 2026 secured a great win against the West Indies, in a knockout game. When all hope was being lost, one man stood tall and delivered when it mattered the most. That player was wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson, who had recently been brought back into the playing XI.

And as the nation celebrated a great win and Samson got the Player Of The Match award, one reaction mattered the most. And that reaction wasn’t of some random fan. It was of a really really PROUD MOTHER!!

And it was enough to make the fans adore Samson even more. Especially after all the hate that he had been getting for his poor form and failures. He was unable to perform in recent times and this annoyed the fans. However, one SPECIAL KNOCK has changed all that!!

T20 World Cup 2026: How Did Sanju Samson’s Mother Celebrate This Epic Performance By Her Son!?

A video went viral of Sanju Samson’s mother, Ligy Viswanath. She celebrated, as her son hit the winning runs against the Windies, to put India into the semis. She is a Malayali housewife from Thiruvananthapuram. And her reaction is a widely shared emotional reaction, which the Indian cricket fans and true admirers of the game are really enjoying.

She clapped her hands and kept smiling. He her were arms up with every shot, as her son scored a 97-run match-winning knock at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

India won the toss and put the visitors to bat, who managed an above-par total of 195/4 in their allotted 20 overs. However, the home side managed to chase it down with just 4 balls left to spare. And that too due to heroics of one man alone, who had some support in phases from the other end. Sanju Samson was the unchallenged match-winner, keeping alive India’s hopes in the tournament.

What Next For Team India In The Tournament!?

The Men In Blue will now face England at the Wankhede in the semis on the 5th of March. On the other side, it will be South Africa to take on the Kiwis in yet another interesting encounter on the 4th.

This tournament has been special for a host of reasons. But now, Sanju Samson’s special knock will be remembered for a long time too. The opening batter has not silenced his critics. But also has ensured that he will be leading the batting charge in the semis with this brilliant performance.

With all the talk around Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan and co., Samson has stayed low-key and taken advantage of the opportunities that have come his way. He has done what the team wanted him to, for a long time now. The fans are back on his side, with two key games to go.

Hopefully, he can help Team India lift their third T20 World Cup title. Only time will tell!!
