The Gunners’ Persistent Interest: Is a Guler Move to Arsenal Still Possible?

Arsenal are still pushing hard in the transfer market to try to lure Arda Guler away from the Spanish capital, even though Real Madrid are not budging on their Turkish star. A recent report from Marc Brus suggests that the North London giants, along with Chelsea, saw a potential window to land the youngster earlier this year, a move that fits right into their recent recruitment patterns. While the Gunners reached out to the player’s camp to see if a summer move was possible, the answer hasn’t changed: Guler is happy in Madrid, and the club still considers him off-limits.

Looking at the numbers from the 2025/26 season, it’s easy to see why Arsenal are so high on the 21-year-old playmaker. He’s racked up 4 goals and 9 assists in 2,010 minutes of La Liga play. Those stats are part of a total haul of 8 goals and 16 assists for club and country this term, which backs up his current €75.3 million price tag.

Even though Xabi Alonso brought him into the fold before leaving mid-season, the arrival of Alvaro Arbeloa hasn’t hurt Guler’s spot in the pecking order. Unless something huge changes regarding his desire for guaranteed playing time, Arsenal fans will have to be patient while Madrid keeps building their future around him.

Can Arsenal realistically convince the Turkish sensation to leave Madrid?

Getting a talent like Guler takes more than just a big check; it requires a project so exciting that it beats the prestige of playing for Real Madrid. Arsenal are flying high under Mikel Arteta, but as of April 2026, a transfer looks tough since Guler is under contract until June 2029. He does deal with some rotation in a crowded midfield, but his recent 8.4 FotMob rating against Deportivo Alaves shows he brings elite quality every time he’s on the pitch.

Beyond that, the London side have to consider the massive cost. Rumours suggest Madrid won’t even pick up the phone unless an offer clears the €120 million mark. Arsenal clearly need a creative spark to take some of the load off Martin Odegaard, but Guler seems set on making his mark at the Santiago Bernabeu for at least one more season.

Arsenal plan a raid for €116.3M world-class player, but Barcelona can foil plans

The Gunners might find better value looking elsewhere for now, as the Turkish international seems to appreciate the stability he’s found in Madrid. Unless Guler specifically asks to leave for a guaranteed starting spot, Arsenal are facing a tough fight against a club that have no reason to sell their best young talent. The scouts will keep watching, but for the moment, Madrid have the door locked tight.
