In today’s IPL match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders, Cummins bowed absolute jaffa to Sunrisers opener Jonny Bairstow by beautiful in-swinging delivery. Today he bowled threatening opening spell to Sunrisers opener after he failed in his first match of IPL against Mumbai Indians. He kept a tight line and didn’t let batsmen score freely.
He also sent English batsman Bairstow’s dugout in recently concluded ODI series between England and Australia. In the third ODI, after completing hundred Jonny Bairstow succumbed to Australian speedsters in-swinging delivery in the same manner.

Bairstow amassed 122 runs in the third ODI against Australia to put of score 302 runs on board. With the help of centuries by Alex Carey and Glenn Maxwell, Australia chased the total in the last over. Today David Warner and Jonny Bairstow couldn’t give a good start to Sunrisers Hyderabad as Jonny Bairstow got bowled by Pat Cummins on the score of just 5 runs off 10 balls.
Manish Pandey and David Warner build a small partnership before leg-spinner Varun Chakravarthy caught and bowled him on the score of 36 runs off 30 balls. Manish and Wriddhiman Saha stitched a partnership of 62 runs. Manish Pandey scored 51 runs off 38 balls before getting caught and bowled by allrounder Andre Russell. Sunrisers Hyderabad could put up only 142 runs in 20 overs in front of Kolkata Knight Riders. Pat Cummins, Andre Russell and Chakravarthy snared one wicket each.

There was a lot of criticism for Cummins in recent weeks. However, he was now able to silence his critics and the fans would be happy with his performance. He will play a key role in KKR’s current campaign if they want to wish in the top four and then try to win the current edition of the Indian Premier League. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) didn’t have a good start of the chase as opener Sunil Narine returned to Pavilion on a duck. Left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed took his wicket in second over of the game. One down batsman Nitish Rana smashed flurry of stylish of fours to scored 26 runs off just 13 balls before getting out to another left-arm pacer T Natarajan. Kolkata skipper Dinesh Karthik succumbed to Rashid Khan on duck and Karthik wasted a review to overturn the decision of field umpire but he failed.
Another opener Shubman Gill played sensibly to reach his first fifty in this IPL season. He stitched a partnership of 102 runs with English batsman Eoin Morgan to reach Kolkata near the target. Gill scored unbeaten 70 runs off 62 balls with the help of five fours and two sixes. Kolkata achieved its target in 18th over when Eoin Morgan hit winning four to T Natarajan. Shubman Gill was awarded as Man of the Match award for his match-winning innings.
