3) Tom Moody
Take the name Moody and all one can see is a man with immense knowledge of the game. Tom not only came in handy with both bat and ball during his playing days. He also cradles the ability to guide players as a coach. With Kings XI Punjab and Sunrisers Hyderabad running under him at the IPL, he already has proved his mettle.
Tom Moody led Hyderabad to a title in 2016. He will be a good choice to replace Shastri.
2) VVS Laxman
Like his batting partner, VVS Laxman stands in the head coach queue too. Like Rahul Dravid, Laxman to has had plenty of experience coaching, mainly at the IPL level.
He has been Sunrisers Hyderabad’s batting coach for years together. He guided batsmen like Shikhar Dhawan and David Warner during his tenure at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. VVS Laxman looks a decent fit for the job.
1) Trevor Bayliss
As the man behind England’s 2019 World Cup win, the selection of Trevor Bayliss would not only gift the Indian team with some experience from recent success, but it will be 15 plus years of coaching that will travel along.
Bayliss coached Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2020. After struggles in the start, he guided the team to the playoffs.
What Next For Ravi Shastri And Co.?
Team India has been surrounded by some controversy in Australia. There have been some flying comments going around up till now and things are looking volatile. It will be interesting to see whether the BCCI and Shastri can work on resolving the issues.
Will Ravi Shastri Remain In Charge Long-Term?
Based on what has been so far, Team India has seen its ups and downs. They have seen some successful tours, though Virat Kohli would want to win a major international trophy. Whether Ravi Shastri is the right person to get that delivered or not, remains to be seen. Only time will tell!!
