The IPL 2021 tournament was just halted due to the rise in cases of Covid 19. Though it was not at a stage where the danger bells were ringing, the IPL Governing Council and the Board Of Control For Cricket In India decided to halt the tournament. All the players, staff members and more were asked to go back home. This included the members of the Punjab Kings stars too, including skipper KL Rahul, who just had an appendix operation.
The team that renamed themselves to the Punjab Kings this year, had a mixed bag so far. They were in sixth place before the tournament was halted. It was with three wins from their eight games.
What Is The Incident That Involves The Father Of KL Rahul And The Email That He Got
KL Rahul was hospitalized before the last game for the Punjab Kings. That was before the competition was halted. However, it seems that the PBKS’ skipper’s father got a bizarre email. This was before the tournament was halted due to Covid.

Well, KL Rahul’s father is a professor in a college. Keeping that in mind, he has a lot of students that he teaches. It is quite obvious for some to have such doubts. Keeping that in mind, it was just a fan moment and nothing really too malicious, as we have seen happen in recent times.
People sometimes like to take their fandom to a whole new level. However, this was just a polite inquiry and nothing else.
What Next For The Punjab Kings; Can They Make A Strong Comeback In The IPL 2021 Tournament?
The IPL 2021 tournament has seen the Punjab Kings go up and down the points table. They have not been consistent, especially with their batting. KL Rahul’s absence from the team would have really hurt their challenge for a place in the playoffs. However, the halt now came as a blessing for them.
KL Rahul and co. will want to focus on their batting. There needs to be more consistency, as they have lost some games that they should have won. That is not acceptable at the top level. A few lapses in concentration can hurt the team in such high-intensity tournaments. This is the ideal time for the team from Punjab to rebuild and work on their weaknesses.
Wasim Jaffer and Anil Kumble will have to work on these few things and sort them out. With that being said, this tournament is still quite wide open. Any team can go on a good run of games and still win it. That is what the Punjab Kings should be focused on doing. KL Rahul will play a major part in that happening and the team needs to be built around them. That is something that they have been doing for the last few seasons as well. However, the players need to contribute more to making the campaign a success. Whether they can do that now or not, remains to be seen!!
