“But He Needs To Leave Arsenal Soon…”, Arsenal Star Player Told To Leave The Gunners In The Transfer Window

Matt Turner, a goalkeeper for the United States national team, has been asked to quit Arsenal. The 28-year-old proved his worth during the FIFA World Cup, according to American coach Bruce Arena, who thinks he should get more playing time going forward.

Turner signed with Arsenal in the spring and made his debut in the summer. He has yet to make an appearance in the Premier League. However, he has appeared in four Europa League games for Arsenal.

Will Matt Turner leave Arsenal?

When the United States national team faced the Netherlands in the round of 16, Arena went on MLS Soccer to discuss each player’s performance. Atheistically, he said that Turner was not to blame for any of the goals:

“Matt is not to blame for the other team’s three goals. He made some great saves in the second half to keep the US in the game. Now, Matt is going to end up like Brad Friedel and Kasey Keller someday. He has shown himself to be a very good goalkeeper for the US. But he needs to leave Arsenal in order to play more often.”

Not only does Bruce Arena agree that Matt Turner should leave Arsenal, but so do other commentators. Turner is too excellent to be sitting on the bench for the Gunners, according to former Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Brad Friedel.

He said: “Will it be the right choice? Only time will tell. When you’re in the MLS, it’s hard to say no to a club like Arsenal coming in for you. But when you move and you’re as good as Matt Turner, I’d like to think you’d move if you were told you’d be the number one, which wasn’t the case at Arsenal.”

He added: “I don’t know what their deal is with Arsenal. But I hope that if he’s not on the team or doesn’t look like he’s going to be, they’ll let him leave or go on loan. I think he’s a good enough goalkeeper that he shouldn’t be sitting on the bench.”

Gabriel Jesus suffers knee injury

When the New England Revolution won the Supporters’ Shield with a league-high 96 points in 2021, goalkeeper Turner was named MLS Goalkeeper of the Year.

Nothing is certain at this time. While in Doha with the Brazilian national team, Gabriel Jesus’ knee will be evaluated by the Gunners before any decision is made on surgery. Nonetheless, Mikel Arteta may be without his lucky charm for a while.

Injuries like Jesus might derail Arsenal’s promising 2022/23 season. But Arteta has several alternatives for how to handle the Brazilian’s absence and keep his team on track after the holidays.
