CSK are taking a lot of steps to make a real impact in the upcoming edition of the IPL. The Chennai Super Kings are keen to improve on their performance from IPL 2020. They were the first team to get knocked out of the race to finish in a playoff spot last year. That would have not gone down well with MSD and co. and the team management. They will be eager to make an impact in IPL 2021 and are now taking the necessary steps.
Already a couple of Sri Lankan spinners were added to the team’s camp for better practice. Now, they have gone ahead and added yet another player for their practice for IPL 2021.
Former Punjab Kings Player Hardus Viljoen Added To The CSK Squad For Training In The Nets For IPL 2021
CSK has no intention of fooling around this time. They are serious about bringing in the players that they need to train well. IPL 2021 could be the last time that we see only eight teams in the competition. The updates from last year had suggested that IPL 2022 should have an additional two teams.
Keeping that in mind, even the CSK camp will be eager to compete, if not win the title this year. A lot of teams who are eager to win will want to make the best out of this opportunity. This could also be the last time that we see former Indian skipper, MS Dhoni, in a cricket tournament.
So, all things combined, they are keen on leaving their mark on this tournament. With that being said, Hardus Viljoen has now been brought in. With nearly two weeks left for the competition now, the likes of skipper MS Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu, along with the new signings were recently seen at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

This is where the CSK team has been practising for quite some time. The players who are not on international duty are already preparing for the upcoming tournament. CSK finished seventh in IPL 2020. This is something that was embarrassing for them. It was the first time that they did not finish in the top four since the tournament started.
What Next For Skipper MS Dhoni And CSK Ahead Of The Upcoming Edition Of The IPL?
The team from Chennai has made some smart buys like Moeen Ali, Krishnappa Gowtham, Robin Uthappa and Cheteshwar Pujara. To add to that, they will see the return of their vice-captain Suresh Raina. This would help MS Dhoni and co. fancy their chances of making it to the playoffs this time around.
Well, though things have been done for the initial side of things, a tournament is not just won on paper. There are a lot of other factors involved in deciding that as well. Keeping that in mind, it will be interesting to see what CSK does in IPL 2021. Their fans will be hoping that Thala can once again pull off a miracle!!
