The exciting English all-rounder, Sam Curran is a big part of the current Chennai Super Kings squad this term after his personal success in the last series against India. Despite the series defeat, Curran would be immensely happy for his personal numbers in the shorter format of the game against India at India. The Indian Premier League is also back in the sub-continent but the teams will not be playing in their home stadiums.
CSK had their worst campaign last term in the IPL in Dubai where the men in Yellow finished 7th in the table and for the first time did not make it to the playoffs. K Gowtham, Moeen Ali, Cheteshwar Pujara and Robin Uthappa (trade window) all are the latest recruitments of the CSK and they are looking to have another successful campaign.
The Video Of Sam Curran And Ravindra Jadeja That Went Viral
In their second practice game before the start of the campaign, Sam Curran did the famous “sword celebration” in front of Ravindra Jadeja and the footage went viral on Twitter. This will be a return to action in cricket for Jadeja after his injury in the Australian tour so that is another plus for the three-time IPL winners.

Sam Curran faced his own brother Tom Curran in the first IPL fixture against the Delhi Capitals. However, it was the team from the capital that came out victorious. He said that there will be some family sledges during the game. Curran says he is happy to play IPL in India and that suits his game.
“Nice to be here for the one-day series against India a couple of weeks back and had a bit of time off. The bubble has been tough, but it is a new world we live in, but really excited. I know Mum will be nervous tonight. It happened once against Rajasthan last year and there’s been a few WhatsApp exchanges in the family group Very different to playing the last time here in India. The wickets are good and boundaries are smaller, so the scores will be higher than what it was last year in Dubai. I am sure there will be a few sledges, but hopefully, they keep the stump mics away”
What Stephen Fleming Said In His Recent Interview?
Chennai Super Kings head coach said earlier that he is excited to build the team again but one odd year does not change anything and the core remains the same. There will be a return of Suresh Rain to the squad as well, whom CSK have very much missed in the previous campaign.
“We go back to the same team which Mr Srinivasan and CSK picked and how right they got it. We are looking to do the same if we can get a decade of consistent cricket from aside, you are doing something right. So, we are tapping into that and yeah there is a big responsibility. Teams now and squads are a lot smarter and they really want what they want, so talent is at a premium. But, it is one of the challenges… good and exciting challenges of being involved with an IPL side.”
