The PSL made a dramatic comeback after a long Covid-19 break. The tournament had to be stopped due to the pandemic. However, it resumed once again on the 9th of June. Keeping that in mind, the first match was between the Islamabad United and the Lahore Qalandars. The game went down to the wire and it was a cracker.
In the final over, there were 16 runs needed. It was the team from Lahore that was batting. They had five wickets in hand and a daunting task ahead of them. Keeping that in mind, Rashid Khan and Tim David were at the crease.
What Happened In The Final Over Of This PSL Game; What A Finish
With Tim David and Rashid Khan at the crease, the task was a daunting one. It was never going to be easy, but then cricket never is. There were expectations that the game could go down to the fire and it did not disappoint.
It was the Rashid Khan show all the one. The player was on 0* when he was about to face the final over. The team needed 16 to win and despite what was going on around him ,the Afghanisthan international was full of confidence. Keeping that in mind, the all-rounder smashed the bowler to all parts of the park.
This helped his team pick up a rather hard-fought win. Below is the video of the game in the final over and how Rashid Khan did what he does best.

For his brilliant performance with the bat and the one wicket that he had picked up while bowling, the Lahore star won the Man Of The Match award. Great end to a great game!!
This was not the first time that the SRH maestro had produced such a great showing. He has previously done so in the Indian Premier League as well.
The Summary Of The Match Which The Lahore Qalandars Managed To Win On The Final Ball
Earlier, the Lahore Qalandars had won the toss and decided to bowl. Skipper Sohail Akhtar had full confidence that his team could bowl well and chase down the target that the team from Islamabad would set. With that being said, his players did not disappoint him and they eventually got the job done.
Islamabad United scored a total of 143 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their 20 overs. Faheem Ashraf was their top scorer in that innings with 27 runs to his name. On the other hand, James Faulkner lead the bowling attack with three wickets to his name. The score was an average total and there was not doubt that it was clearly chasable.
With that mindset, the Lahore Qalandars came out to bat and were looking good to go. The skipper scored 40 runs and lead his team from the front. Further, Mohammad Hafeez (29) and Tim David (23) were the other highest scorers. To add to that, Rashid Khan stole the show at the very end with his brilliant hitting. This was the perfect kind of comeback that the PSL needed. What a great win!!
