Lane Johnson: Family, Personal-Life, All You Need To Know And More

David Lane Johnson, an American football player, is an offensive tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles in the National Football League (NFL). He was born on May 8, 1990, in Groveton, Texas, and attended Groveton High School, where he played football and participated in track & field. He was an honourable mention All-state selection and named All-district as a quarterback in football. In track & field, Johnson competed in throwing events and finished fourth in the shot put event at the 2008 UIL 1A State Championships with a top-throw of 15.21 meters (49 ft 7 in).

After graduating high school, Johnson attended the University of Oklahoma, where he played college football. He was a standout player, and his impressive performances on the field caught the attention of NFL teams. In 2013, the Philadelphia Eagles selected Johnson fourth overall in the NFL Draft, and he signed a four-year, $19.85 million contract with a $12.81 million signing bonus. Johnson made his debut in the season opener and started every game during his rookie year. He played a crucial role in helping the Eagles reach the playoffs, where they lost to the New Orleans Saints.

Highlights and Achievements in Football:

Johnson’s success in the NFL continued in the following years. In 2016, he received a ten-game suspension for using performance-enhancing drugs. However, he claimed ignorance and said the substance was not listed on the NFLPA’s player app. Despite the suspension, Johnson’s performance did not suffer, and he continued to play at a hih level. In 2017, he missed a game due to a concussion, but he still made the Pro Bowl alongside right guard Brandon Brooks.

At the end of the 2017 season, Johnson was ranked seventh among all offensive tackles by Pro Football Focus. He continued to be a dominant force on the field and helped the Eagles win the Super Bowl in 2018. His outstanding performances in the NFL earned him numerous accolades and recognition. Johnson was named to the First-team All-Pro twice, in 2017 and 2019, and was selected to the Pro Bowl three times, in 2015, 2017, and 2019.

In November 2019, Johnson signed a four-year, $72 million contract with $54.595 million guaranteed, making him the highest-paid offensive lineman in the NFL. Despite his success and wealth, Johnson remains humble and dedicated to his craft. He continues to work hard every day and strives to be the best offensive tackle in the NFL.

Personal Life and Family:

While attending the University of Oklahoma, Johnson met Chelsea Johnson, who specialized in the high jump event. In January 2013, they married and together they have three children. Their first child, a son named David Jace, was born in 2013, during their first year of marriage. After a three-year wait, they welcomed their second child, Journey Layne, and later their third child, McCoy, in 2018.

In 2019, the couple announced their separation and divorce. Despite this, they maintain a friendly relationship and co-parent their children. Johnson is a devoted father and spends as much time as possible with his children. He enjoys taking them to football games and other sporting events. He is proud of their accomplishments in school and extracurricular activities.
